Ultherapy is a lifting and skin rejuvenation procedure that uses concentrated ultrasound which, essentially, will help firm the skin of the face, neck and décolleté.
During an ultherapy treatment, energy is applied to targeted areas, and in a concentrated manner, which induces tissue contraction and the synthesis of collagen.
What is particularly interesting is that we can apply this energy in depth without affecting the skin.
Depending on the needs, we will sometimes treat in depth or in surface.
Ultherapy is the ideal solution for a facelift without surgery!
For which conditions do you use ultherapy?
Ultherapy or “facelift without surgery” is useful for treating sagging tissue associated with aging and for rejuvenating the appearance of the skin.
The areas that can be treated are the face, neck and décolleté. It could also be used on other parts of the body.
Ultherapy is the only treatment approved (recognized by Health Canada) for this indication.
Ultherapy is given through a catheter that comes into contact with the skin.
The treatment can last from 30 to 120 minutes depending on the areas to be treated and after just one treatment the skin rejuvenation process is initiated.
For ultherapy treatment to be effective, enough energy must be delivered to the tissue. It is therefore normal for this to generate mild to moderate pain of short duration.
Since at the Center de Chirurgie de Maisonneuve clinic, treatments are performed under medical supervision, we can administer sedation which will make the treatment much more comfortable.
No treatment can claim to produce a permanent result, since it is still impossible to stop the aging of the skin. However, ultherapy, like surgery, has a real impact on tissue by inducing collagen synthesis. The duration of the gain obtained should be counted in terms of years and will depend on the genetic background and aging, which will be influenced by the behavior of the individual at the level of hygiene of life and maintenance of his person. .
